Message Playing around with a new setup I found for a steal..

This kit was bought used.. off a Lexus.

I really couldn't pass up the deal so I jumped on it and the guy is also having me do some work to his vehicle so that will be used as payment.. Plus I always hated how Stoptech never offered a 6piston front/ 4 piston rear setup for the Z32. So I always had a plan to build my own kit if the opportunity presents itself.

Before anyone asks.. I verified weight bias of my 2+2 vs the Lexus and piston diameters as well as brake master cylinder orifice diameters and they all fit well with these brakes for the z32. I also purchased a Tilton brake bias controller to fine tune the brake bias.

This is a..

-FRONT 14" 6-piston Stoptech ST60 caliper and 2-piece aero rotor

-REAR 14" 4-piston Stoptech ST40 , 2-piece aero rotor

They will be fitted under 18" wheels (iForged Aeros)

Freshly machined hub bore to proper diameter because there were some differences like the Lexus hub is 60mm.. where the Z32 is 66mm..

This was easily taken care of with a lathe I used at my work. The bolt pattern and hub/rotor offset are the same as the z32! which I got lucky with. Even the rear E-brake setup is the same size.. so my rear E-brake will still function like stock.

I plan on disassembling the calipers completely and rebuilding them and also re-powdercoating them as well as refinishing the aluminum hats of the rotors with powdercoat. Also planning on getting new STOPTECH logo.

Rear rotor setup.. has a few dings.. but nothing that some TLC can't help.

I made some preliminary brackets to verify these brakes will clear my iForged Aeros. Hell.. the Lexus was close to being a "bolt-on" affair.. but some custom machining is definitely needed for new radial brackets. The SS lines even bolt up to the 10mmx1.0 brake line fittings and the lenghts work as well.

Above are some pictures that I used my project car to check fitment etc

Here is a picture showing the size difference of the ST60- 6piston vs the ST40-4 piston. Huge difference!

Check out how close the air valve comes to the caliper on the front! Stoptech recommends a minimum of 2mm.. this was about 4mm.. so I am good :)

Since I can't take projects on like this at my work. I will be having my buddy Mitch over at EP-racing custom CNC me some new radial/relocation brackets out of some 7075 or 6061 aluminum.. I know he's a great attention to detail and I feel confident he will put out a great custom product for me.

Here are some random pics I snapped the other day.. The brakes are not installed yet.. but I love the Midnight blue metallic 1990 Z color! Twinturbo conversion this winter.. Always wanted a nice clean 2+2 Twinturbo.
